Hello! Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis. At the time that this blog entry is being written, life is going pretty good!
I am 28 years old, I have been married for 7 years (yes, your math is correct), and the proud mama to a 100 lb. fur baby named Ben. I also have (what I consider) the coolest job on earth! I am a local government attorney working in Land Use, Zoning, and Environmental Law. The job is pretty new, but my passion for the practice of the law goes back a way.
The last thing that you need to know about me, is one of the most important facts about me. I am active and passionate about by faith in God. I am not into religion (although I am actively involved in my local church). I love ALL people (because, it is my firm opinion that Jesus loved all people). There are no caveats to this statement. This little project of mine is meant to be an open and inclusive space for young attorneys of all backgrounds to mingle and share like thoughts. I am not ashamed of my faith, just like you should not be ashamed about your faith, your life, who you love, or how you identify. Let’s be open with one another and treat one another with respect and love? Ok? Sounds good.
So let me tell you a little bit about “The Lady Esquire”. I came up with the name sometime shortly after the bar exam when I decided to abandon my personal Instagram in favor of an Instagram account that focused on my chronicles as a young attorney in the magic city. It has been a fun little account and I have been able to interact with many of you, but recently I have felt limited by the word characters and have wanted to badly to share more than just a random quote, picture, and caption. So, I decided to launch this little website to expand upon the work of The Lady Esquire Instagram and share more with you.
This blog (and eventually weekly vlog) will be more of a lifestyle blog. The focus will be on whatever captures my attention at the moment (the practice of law, homemade dog treats, organic cooking, home renovations, insights on the law school process, religion, politics, and table settings – its all fair game). My only request is that we treat each other with fairness and kindness throughout this journey.
Welcome to my little corner of the world.
